SchoolCompass HK (校園羅盤; package hk.ithkservice.hksecondarya) helps parents and guardians explore Hong Kong schools. Shortlists, family notes and planner tasks stay on your device. There is no account system. The app is for adults (parents/guardians) and is not directed primarily to children under 13.
Information stored on your device
The app stores shortlists, comparison lists, family notes, admission planner tasks, preferences, and purchase entitlement in private storage on your device.
Uninstalling the app or clearing app data removes this local information.
Open data and network use
School profiles may use official open data (including DATA.GOV.HK where available). Demo or sample records are labelled so they are not treated as real facts.
Network access may be used to fetch open-data updates, show ads, handle consent where required, and process store purchases. The app is not affiliated with the Education Bureau or the Government of the HKSAR.
Approximate location
Approximate location is used only when you choose nearby-school lookup. The app does not require a full home address by default. Location is for app functionality and is not sent to us as a developer-operated profile.
Advertising and purchases
The free version may show ads through Google AdMob. Google may process advertising identifiers, approximate technical information, and ad interaction data under its privacy policy. Where legally required, a consent message may be shown.
An optional one-time Remove Ads purchase (product id remove_ads) is processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.
Optional analytics
Optional anonymous improvement analytics are off by default and can be controlled in the app settings.
Children and your choices
SchoolCompass HK is intended for parents and guardians and is not directed primarily to children under 13.
You may decline personalized ads where a consent message is shown, purchase Remove Ads, clear local data, or uninstall the app.
