OutdoorGuard helps Hong Kong outdoor users check HKO warnings, rainfall, AQHI, nearby AEDs and outing reminders. The app has no account system. Core safety features stay free. Advertising may support the free version; OutdoorGuard Plus can remove ads and unlock offline map packs. This policy explains how information is handled.
Public data and what stays on your device
Weather warnings and related conditions come from Hong Kong Observatory public information. AED and facility map data use Fire Services Department open data and other public sources. The app does not ask you to create an account or submit personal profiles.
Outing finish times, reminder preferences, map filters, and purchase/subscription status flags are stored locally on your device. Precise outing routes are not kept long-term by default.
Location
Location is optional and used on your device to sort nearby facilities, centre the map, and support outing features. Location is not uploaded to us for advertising profiles or analytics accounts we operate.
Advertising and OutdoorGuard Plus
The free version may show ads (for example via Google AdMob). Ad SDKs may process advertising identifiers, approximate location from IP, device information and ad interactions under the provider's policies. See https://policies.google.com/privacy .
OutdoorGuard Plus purchases or subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store (or Google Play if offered). We do not receive your payment card details. The app stores only enough on-device status to remove ads and unlock Plus features. Plus does not make routes safer and does not replace official warnings or 999.
Notifications and safety disclaimer
Outing finish reminders and important alerts (when enabled) are scheduled locally when possible. Some official alert delivery may require a network connection.
App tips organise public information and do not replace Hong Kong Observatory notices, Fire Services guidance, or emergency services. If life may be in danger, call 999 immediately. OutdoorGuard is not a medical device.
