GoWhere is a Hong Kong trip-planning helper for Android. It does not require an account or a location permission. Frequent trips and preferences are stored on your device. The app prefers on-device Cantonese speech recognition and opens your usual maps service only after you confirm a plan. Package: org.igears.hkgotowhere.
Information stored on your device
Saved trips, recent destinations, and app preferences remain in the app’s private storage on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
You can delete saved trips in the app or remove all local app data by uninstalling GoWhere.
Microphone and voice
The microphone permission is used only when you choose voice asking for directions. GoWhere prioritizes on-device Cantonese recognition so speech can be processed on your phone.
Voice input is used to understand origin, destination, and travel preferences you speak. We do not operate a GoWhere account system that stores your spoken audio.
Location, maps handoff, and network
GoWhere does not require a location permission. You may enter “My location” or other places yourself when planning a trip.
After you confirm a plan, the app can open your usual navigation service (for example Google Maps via its documented URL interface). That service’s privacy policy then applies to whatever you do there.
Network access may be used for maps handoff, advertising where shown, and related system services.
Advertising
The free version may show ads through Google advertising services. Google may process advertising identifiers, approximate technical information, and ad interaction data under Google’s privacy policy.
Where legally required, a consent message may be shown.
Children and contact
GoWhere is a general-audience travel utility and is not directed specifically to children.
