Expenses Housekeeper ("the app", "we") is a personal expense tracker. We built it to be private by design. This policy explains what data the app handles.
Your financial data stays on your device
Everything you record — expense amounts, categories, notes, dates, your monthly budget and reminder settings — is stored only in a local database on your device. We do not have an account system, and this data is never uploaded to us or to any server. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted with it. You can also delete individual records inside the app at any time, or export them to a file that you control.
Receipt scanning (optional)
If you choose to scan a receipt, the app first tries to read it directly on your device. When on-device reading is not available on your phone, the receipt image is sent securely (over HTTPS) to our text-recognition service at genapi.mobpage.org for the sole purpose of extracting the amount, date and merchant. The image is used only to return that text to your device. We do not retain the image after processing. We do not use receipt images for advertising and do not sell them.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob uses your device's Advertising ID and related ad data. If you are in a region that requires consent (such as the EEA/UK), the app shows a consent form before personalized ads are used, and you can change your choice later. You can reset or limit your Advertising ID in your device settings. Learn how Google uses data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites .
Purchases
Optional subscriptions and credit packs are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details — Google handles the transaction. Manage or cancel subscriptions anytime in the Google Play Store.
Permissions
Camera (only when you scan a receipt) and notifications (for your daily budget reminder) are used solely for those features. The app does not read your SMS, contacts, or location.
Children
The app is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Data retention & deletion
Your records live on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. For any privacy request, contact us at [email protected].
